Mohammadreza Bayrami

Mohammadreza Bayrami was born in a village in Ardabil in 1961 and migrated to Tehran with his family in his teens. He started his writing career by submitting one of his stories to radio.
He has been present in renowned children’s and young adult publications and has worked as a fiction expert for Hozeh Honari. Bayrami writes for adults as well, but when it comes to children’s and young adult literature, he mostly writes young adult novels. He is a realist writer, who, because of his life experience, mostly writes about the life and nature of his birth place village and, in a simple, fluent language, portrays the life of poverty and travail that its residents lead, as well as their relationships. Another topic that Bayrami discusses in his books is the eight-year Iran-Iraq war.
His book entitled The Mountain Called Me has been translated to German.
